"On Saturday 23rd November 2013 North Staffs Organ & Keyboard Club did a Playathon at Tesco Longton Stoke-on-Trent for the Diabetes UK Charity. We played from 9 am until 5 pm. Several members took part in either playing one or the other Yamaha Tyros 3 or Tyros 4 keyboards, supplied by our members. When not playing they took their turn in collecting money. Most of the members taking part took the trouble to dress up in costumes, like Mickey & Minnie Mouse, a Court Jester, a Circus Ringmaster, Julius Caesar, Mr & Mrs Santa Clause and one of Santa's helpers, a Telly Tubby with Emu which added the attraction of Tesco customers, who were very generous and helped us to achieve a Total of £1215.52. However to make it a nice round sum the Club made it up to £1250.00, so a cheque for this amount will be handed over to Tesco on Thursday 28th November."
